Icelandic Canadian Club of British Columbia Scholarships

Scholarship Requirements & Information

  1. The Icelandic Canadian Club of British Columbia scholarships are awarded to students of Icelandic ancestry who are residents of British Columbia and are beginning or continuing a program of post-secondary education. 

  2. Applicants, parents, or grandparents must be members in good standing of the Icelandic Canadian Club of B.C. 

  3. Awards will be given according to scholastic achievement. Consideration will be given to the member’s activity in the Icelandic Club

  4. The scholarship committee shall determine, on an annual basis, the total number of scholarships to be awarded as well as the amount of each scholarship.

  5. These awards are applicable to students already attending or planning to attend an accredited post‐secondary educational institution for academic or technical studies. 

  6. Applicant must have been accepted at an accredited post‐secondary institution. 

  7. All applicants must be full‐time students. 

  8. These awards shall be made on the recommendation of a Scholarship Committee whose members shall be selected by the supporting organization. 

  9. Applicants may be awarded only two scholarships in their lifetime regardless of the category. 

  10. Completed applications and all required enclosures must be received no earlier than June 1st and no later than August 15th.  They. can be mailed or hand-delivered to the following address:

Please read the application form carefully and provide all the required information (Icelandic heritage, application form, Social Insurance Number,acceptance letter from institution, transcripts, applicant’s letter, and picture).
