Canada Iceland Foundation Scholarships

Canada Iceland Foundation has been in existence for over 50 years.  It is a registered charity and over the years has received gifts from individuals and estates.  We invite students of Icelandic or part‐Icelandic descent to apply for the scholarships which are offered, or administered by, the Canada Iceland Foundation.

Canada Iceland Foundation Incorporated (CIFI) Scholarships are available to Canadian students who are enrolled in post‐secondary education institutions. Please pass this information to anyone in your families who is currently enrolled in university or college. Applicants are required to fill out a general application, allowing the committee to consider you for any scholarship which is applicable.  (You may apply for a specific scholarship if you wish.) An application will be considered a request for consideration for any scholarship offered by Canada Iceland Foundation. Priority may be given to first time applicants. The deadline for application is September 30.

Other Awards and Scholarships

Numerous scholarships from a growing number of Icelandic organizations are available from various organizations. In some cases, scholarships may be specific to membership in an organization, living in a province, or in a certain field of study. Many of these organizations have web sites listed on the Chapters page of The Icelandic National League website.
